Radon Testing and Mitigation Services Available

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can accumulate within residential or commercial properties and can cause serious health risks if not identified and mitigated as soon as possible. Oak Leaf Environmental in Centre Hall, Pennsylvania, offers radon testing intermediation services to help measure radon levels and remediate the situation in order to reduce radon concentrations to safe levels so that no one within the property is harmed.

Radon gas is the Number One cause of lung cancer in nonsmokers, killing more than 21,000 people annually in the U.S. alone. Many radon-related deaths can be avoided by the installation of an active soil depressurization (ASD) radon mitigation system. RadonAway® radon mitigation fans, when installed properly as the main component of an ASD system, effectively reduces the amount of radon, other soil gases and moisture that can enter homes and other buildings.

Radon Testing

This is a 2-visit appointment. The first visit we will drop off 2 canisters to leave for ~4 days. After the time has elapsed we will arrive for a second visit to collect the canisters and send them out to the lab. We generally receive results within 3 days once the lab has received the canisters.

Radon Mitigation

We will come out and complete a scope of the desired project. This includes taking measurements and pictures of the work you would like to complete. We will bring that back to the office and email out a quote for you to approve to move forward with scheduling.

This system is considered a sub-slab whole house depressurization system.

The installation of system consists of the following:

• core drilling a hole through the basement slab,
• Installing PVC piping from the hole to the outside of the home,
• a U-tube installed on the pipe to measure air flow,
• a radon fan outside hardwired in,
• running the pvc piping up above the eve of the roof
