Lead is a toxic metal that can still be found in homes and commercial properties and can cause severe health problems when ingested or inhaled. At Oak Leaf Environmental, we provide lead testing and abatement services to determine the presence of lead and safely remove the lead from a building in order to prevent health hazards in the future.

Lead is a serious concern for humans, especially children. Because children are still developing, exposure to lead may cause damage to the brain and nervous system; slowed growth and development; learning and behavior problems; and speech and hearing problems.

Lead Testing

Preventing exposure and potential poisoning is important in homes, offices, and other buildings such as schools and hospitals. One of the major sources of lead exposure is lead-based paints, especially if it is old, peeling, or flaking. When in doubt, and especially if the structure was built before 1978, testing is a must. We offer detailed lead testing for both your building and the surrounding soil to locate all lead-based hazards.

Lead Abatement

We will come out and complete a scope of the desired project. This includes taking measurements and pictures of the work you would like to complete. We will bring that back to the office and email out a quote for you to approve to move forward with scheduling. Lead abatement projects are designed to permanently eliminate existing lead-based paint hazards. They may be ordered by a state or local government in response to a lead-poisoned child or other reason, or may be undertaken voluntarily at any time.
